For those who love to dance

The KINGS OF SWING BIG BAND will be appearing at Palm Grove, Darling Harbour for Seniors Week at 12.30pm- 3.30pm on the 24th March. Palm Grove is right down near the water just across from the Convention Centre.

Frank McQuade, an old boy of St James is proud to say this is the third year in a row that his Band has been selected by the Department of Ageing, Disabilities and Home Care to fill this spot. They reckon the Band is pretty good. It is a free afternoon with lots of dancing to Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Benny Goodman tunes and others

New Year's Greetings

A happy and successful New Year to every one.

The 1950's was my teenage school years and with this New Year that's well over 50 years ago. But its not that far away; its all still happening. For example two St James school friends (a few years apart) had the same christian name, Roma. They had not been in contact for half a century. Both were Christmas shopping in David Jones and overheard each others name and Bingo!!! How about that for a get together.

Its Paul Blair's influence I'm sure. He was talking about both of them the week before. If you are ever out with Paul Blair he is always bumping into people he hasn't met in years, and you find that you also have some connection with them too. 6 degrees of separation? Not in Paul's case he seems to know everyone.

Incidentally, have you replied to Paul's New Year letter yet? He really needs to find out if you're going to the reunion luncheon (12:00 noon for 12:30 pm) at the Bowlers Club 95 York St., on Saturday 13 March 2010. If you want to pay now the cost is $40.
